Father, how grateful we are that we live in the time of Your favor.  You favor us with Your goodness, love, and provisions.  But most of all You favor us with redemption through the precious blood of Your Son, Jesus Christ.  Jesus paid the price and we are recipients of His love and forgiveness.  We give thanks for our salvation and we pray for anyone who has not made that divine appointment with You to make this the day of their salvation, for now is the time of Your favor and now is the day of their salvation.  Amen.

Father, You desire that we live holy and godly lives as we eagerly await the reappearing of Your Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Nothing here on earth compares with the anticipation we feel about that glorious day.  We want to speed Christ’s coming by sharing the gospel message to those near and far.  Help us not to be timid or apathetic, but keep us enthused and eager to share the message of salvation so that we speed Your Son’s return.  Amen.

Father, there is no limit to all that You have provided for us such as material blessings, physical health, the love of family and unending promises that You have already fulfilled or that are yet to be fulfilled.  But You have also set visible and well-defined boundaries that are for our own good. Temptations to either toe the boundary line or cross over into enemy territory will always be there, but You give us the power to resist and discernment to recognize the alluring deceit of the evil one. Help our eyes and hearts to remain focused on Your innumerable blessings and provisions as we stand against the god of this age who seeks to destroy us. May we not move the landmark of the faithful to join with the ranks of the faithless.  In Your name, Jesus, we pray.  Amen.

Father, we are a chosen generation, a royal people who have been called out of darkness into Your marvelous light.  Through the power of Your Holy Spirit we go forth and shine Your light through our works, our attitudes, our holy lives, and by our verbal witness.  May we bring You glory as others see Your light shining through us.  And we pray that others will come to Christ through our witness.  It is in His name that we pray.  Amen.

Father, help us to rid ourselves of habits and attitudes that bring a complaining, ungrateful or begrudging spirit. Renew us with a persistent spirit of joyful praise, contentment, and gratitude for as long as we live.  We rejoice in your goodness toward us and in Your steadfast love that never ceases.  Amen.

Father, in this decadent world where imposters are increasing in number and in their menacing deception we can easily be lured into their schemes or we can stand our ground for purity and holiness.  Help us to always be on guard by familiarizing ourselves with Scripture, and arming ourselves in the attire of a Christian soldier as we do battle with the enemy of darkness.

And, Lord, for those who are dear to our heart; those who have taken the enemy’s bait and now are entrapped in sin’s deadly tentacles, we prayerfully intercede on their behalf as we cry out to You.  Free them from the deadly strangle of Satan’s influence.  Grant us wisdom, discernment, and favor as we interact with them.  Send others to bring light to their darkened paths and to help us bear this heavy burden.  We will not be defeated, for Your power that is within us is greater than the power of our enemy.  We will not despair in our problems, but we will delight in Your promises. In the name of Jesus we pray.  Amen.

Father, our view of heaven is most distant when we live only for here and now; especially when all is going well and prosperity is at our doorstep.  But when our bodies give way to perishable atrophy and troubles overwhelm us, it is then that our hearts especially long for the distant city with a firm foundation whose Maker and Builder is the Lord of Creation.  It is in this place of focus that we best commune with You and find strength and renewed hope to deal with present challenges.  Keep our hearts attuned to our future goal of hearing You say, “Well done good and faithful servant!  Enter into the joys of heaven.”

Father, today we are especially mindful of Your faithfulness in the created order of the universe.  Your great faithfulness, mercy and love is also evident in the sacrificial death of Your Son, Jesus, who became a substitute for our sins.  Your provision for our every need gives us strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow, no matter what challenge we face or difficulty that might arise on this day.  You are truly faithful!  Amen.

Father, we pray for a spirit of cooperation and eagerness to contribute to the needs of the whole body, so that Your Church is built not just with sweat, bricks, and mortar but with  love, care, and teamwork.    Therefore we go forth in unity and purpose as we do our part in building each other up in the various natural giftings and learned skills You have given us as we strive for unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God.  Amen.

Father, we recognize from Scripture that You long to be gracious to Your children, to show them compassion and give them direction.  You bless those who wait upon You.  Though you give us the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, you also give us teachers, prophets, and believing friends who affirm or challenge us as we seek Your face and Your will for our lives.  As we hold up the lamp of Your Word to lighten the path before us, how good it is to hear Your voice behind us saying, “This is the way, walk in it.”  You’ve promised that You will never leave us or forsake us.  Darkness will not overtake us, for You are the Light of the World, and in You there is no darkness at all. Thank You for Your reassuring presence that You walk with us step by step on this day.  Amen.
