“A Prayer For Making Comebacks”

October 31, 2011

Praying manFather, You proved that death could not keep its hold on our Lord Jesus Christ, when You raised Him from the dead. The resurrected power that You gave Jesus also dwells in us, the redeemed. It gives us the power to overcome the most impossible situations where Satan has had influence over us.   At times You miraculously intervene and other times You provide us with the strength to hold up when we experience trouble upon trouble. When we lose our way You lovingly, gently, and persistently nudge us back to the Great Shepherd of our souls. Thank You for specializing in things thought impossible and for doing what no other power can do!  Amen.

“A Prayer For Overcomers”

October 18, 2011

Praying manFather, Your grace is sufficient to meet all my needs in the midst of trouble, hardship, persecution, famine, nakedness, danger and sword.  I am truly more than a conqueror because of Your love for me! I choose to believe Your Word and apply its wondrous truths to my life. I reject Satan’s cunning lies that seek to convince me that I am an exception to Your redemptive power or that my troubles can never be repaired by Your almighty hand. Your power is unbiased, all-reaching, and ever merciful to those who call upon You in times of trouble. I’m so grateful that Your sufficiency exceeds my need. Thank you for salvaging my life by taking my feet from the sinking, miry clay and setting them upon the solid rock to stay. Amen.

“A Prayer For Security In The Storm”

August 29, 2011

Praying manFather, we thank You for the powerful God that You are.  Even the winds and waves recognize You as Creator and obey Your voice.  Your Word is a lighthouse that directs us safely toward heaven when the furious waves swirl about us and the water rises up to our necks.  Keep us firmly anchored in Your ways so that we stay above the waters and endure to the very end. In Jesus’ name we pray.  Amen.

“A Prayer For Daily Obedience”

August 25, 2011

Praying manFather, when You compel me like you did Esther to do or say something that’s not within my comfort zone I become fearful of the outcome which prevents me from stepping out in faith and following through with an obedient heart.  Would You remind me that there is great blessing when I follow Your leading.  Help me not to fear the outcome, for that is in Your hands. My part is simply to be obedient to Your inner voice speaking to me. Thank You for Your prompting and for entrusting me to be a part of your grand purpose.

“A Prayer Of Consecration”

August 24, 2011

Praying manFather, it is easy to judge the Israelites in their wilderness wanderings as they were continually drawn into idol worship.  And yet we ourselves must daily resist the temptation to make people or things more important than You, our heavenly Father. These idols will capture our hearts, our intellect, our passion, our time, and our finances so that the kingdom of God is no longer that which we seek first.  All glory, honor, and worship belongs to You and You alone. Amen

“A Prayer Of Awe To The Almighty God”

August 11, 2011

Praying man From the rising of the sun until the time that it sets I praise You, Almighty God!  Your name is to be praised when the day is before me, in the middle of the afternoon, and when the day comes to an end. Your faithfulness reaches to the heavens, spreads throughout the earth, and is personally experienced in my life daily. As high as the heavens above, so great is the measure of Your wondrous love.  You are great and greatly to be praised. Amen.

“A Prayer To The Everlasting God”

August 9, 2011

Praying manDaily prayer: Almighty God, all the universe declares Your glory who creates, sustains, and watches over Your creation.  Though the earth will someday be destroyed You created within us a soul that will exist eternally.  While the foundations are being destroyed here on earth we, the redeemed, find great comfort and immense hope in Your eternal foundation. It is from
eternity past and will exist in eternity future, with no beginning and no end!  Only a loving God like You would choose to include us in Your vast plan and find delight in us, in all our humanness.  You are worthy to receive glory, honor, and praise in this life and for all eternity.  Amen.

“A Prayer For Showers Of Blessing”

July 22, 2011

Praying manFather, you rain showers of blessings on us daily. They’re so bountiful and normal to our daily lives that they go by unnoticed by the vast majority. But when nature goes off course and there is flooding, drought, earthquakes, or other disasters we recognize that we are totally reliant on Your mercies and goodness. We thank You for providing for our needs and hearing the cries of Your people when we call upon You for help. Teach us Your ways in answered and unanswered prayer, we pray. Amen.

“A Prayer For Ministry Encouragement”

July 19, 2011

Praying manFather, our hearts are warmed and encouraged when we remember that our labor for You is never in vain.  You see our hearts and equip us to carry out the mission of helping Your people. We don’t want to look to others for affirmation since that could lead us to vacillate in our calling.  Instead You bless us as we are faithful to You and remain steadfast in our commitment to help others.  May we not rely on just the immediate results, but rather recognize that You are storing up treasures from our work here on earth, many that will only be revealed in heaven.  Amen.

“A Prayer For Faith”

July 13, 2011

Praying manFather, so much of what I need to do today and in the near future consumes my time and energy. The commitments and problems I face can easily crowd out the solemn moments that helps redirect my attention and focus upon the future You have planned for me. My soul is refreshed and my hope renewed when I consider that all of heaven with its splendor, majesty, absence of sin, and the presence of Jesus is mine to receive. You prepared it all and promised it as an inheritance for all who live by faith. Though my eyes cannot presently see, my heart believe by faith all that You have in store for those who are looking for the city which is yet to come, our eternal dwelling place.  Amen.
