“A Prayer For Child-like Faith”

March 19, 2024

Father, as adults we tend to complicate matters and seek to understand that which is incomprehensible. We cannot fully grasp the Kingdom of God here on earth or that You would give Your only Son to die for us, and that by doing so, we can receive forgiveness of sins. These amazing truths are hard to grasp and often keep adults from receiving by faith all that You have for us. But Jesus gives us the example of children whose learning is very basic. They don’t yet know the whys, whens, and wherefores of life at such an early age. But rather than Jesus instructing the children to first become like the disciples, as we would expect, He instructs the disciples to become like children. Father, help us to examine the characteristics of a child that bring You pleasure, that open our heart’s door for closer communion with You. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

“A Prayer Letting Our Light Shine”

March 18, 2024

Father, as Your redeemed children You have called us to let our lights shine for Jesus. By clothing ourselves in Your armor of light, we will expose the evil deeds of darkness and display the fruit of goodness, righteousness and truth. Any good or positive influence we present in the face of darkness is a reflection of Your Spirit abiding in our hearts and flowing out of our actions and attitudes. Be glorified in all we say and do is our prayer. Amen.

“A Prayer For Children”

March 14, 2024

Father, we pray for parents and grandparents raising children in an increasingly evil and corrupted world. We pray that you will bless the many Christian schools that seek to reinforce the teaching of god-fearing parents. We pray for those who are homeschooling their children, that You would provide them with needed resources, daily strength, stamina and wisdom to carry out their duties as not only a parent but also their teacher. We pray for the remnant of teachers in the public school system who are seeking to be faithful to You, Father. Give them the fortitude to resist the evil around them so their light will shine brightly for others to see. May they not go along with worldly indoctrination just to get along but base their teaching and their lives on the instruction of the Bible. May the commandments You give in Scripture always be their guidelines for that which is presented in the classroom and beyond. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

“A Prayer Of Thanks For Our Rescue”

March 13, 2024

Merciful Father, our dwelling place is not found in the kingdom of this world but in Your spiritual kingdom where our life-saving rescue took place as Jesus died on the cross on our behalf. You delivered us from the dominion of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of Your beloved Son in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of our sins. There is no greater or more lasting rescue that changes the direction of our lives here on earth and also the direction of our eternal destiny in the life hereafter. We will thank and praise You for our life transforming rescue now and for all eternity. Amen.

“A Prayer For The Prodigal”

March 11, 2024

Father, we pray for the prodigal son, daughter, husband, wife or other family member(s) who have strayed from their faith in God. May they hear and take to heart Max Lucado’s words, “Whatever you have done, whatever you have become, it doesn’t matter. Please come home.” For some of those prodigals there is no longer the brick and mortar home they left, but they can still come home to their heavenly Father, find His forgiveness, grace, and mercy to meet their sin problem and every other need they have. We pray that they will indeed come home to You, our Father. Amen.

“A Prayer For A Teachable Spirit”

March 8, 2024

Father, we know that we must do more than just read Your Word, but we must apply Your truths so that we and others see the work of Your Spirit in our lives. The Israelites looked to You for guidance in the cloud by day and the fire by night. They learned when to wait and when to walk. It is in the waiting times that we learn endurance and it is in the walking times that we learn to trust. There is much learning that takes place whether we are being still or whether we are on the “go”, that is, if our spirit is teachable. Whether we are moving  forward or staying still our hope is in You all the day long. Amen.

“A Prayer For Firmly Embedded Truths”

March 7, 2024

Father, we recognize the spiritual, emotional, and physical strength that comes from relying on truths and principles established in Your Word. Impress them deep into our hearts like embedded nails so that we hold firmly to them. Otherwise we will get lax and be led astray from the paths You’ve laid out for us. Much like the oxen we need the goading or prodding of Your Holy Spirit to keep our hearts in check and our will submitted to Your leading as our Shepherd. Keep us faithful we pray. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

“A Prayer For Living A Fruitful Life”

March 6, 2024

Father, I want my life to be of value to You and to those around me. Through the Psalmist You depict the wicked to be like chaff which has no lasting value here on earth and certainly not for eternity. What a tragic waste to have been given human life and to have wasted it in such a manner. I want my life to count right here and now and for all eternity. I bow my knees and confess with my lips that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior of my life. I choose not to walk in the counsel of the wicked, but rather I seek counsel from your holy Word and delight in Your ways. Amen.

“A Prayer When We Say ‘Why Me Lord'”

March 4, 2024

Father, when burdens increase and answers don’t come I have a choice to let a bitter root grow up or to remain firmly rooted in You. Focusing solely on my troubles is sure to germinate doubt, fear and unbelief which leads to bitterness. But when I clothe myself in the spiritual armor You provide I have a powerful defense against the enemy; I can stand firm against his evil schemes. Though he plots daily evil You plan my eternal good. We are cautioned repeatedly in Scripture that we will have many troubles, but that we should take heart because You help us to overcome them. Father, though You’ve proven Yourself over and over I ask for grace to trust You even more for those matters that weigh me down, knowing that You are working all things out for my good and for Your glory. Amen.

“A Prayer For An Open Door Of Faith”

March 1, 2024

Father, there is no higher calling in our earthly pilgrimage than to experience salvation or lead another to faith. The vast majority are looking for answers to life’s challenges and many are learning that it doesn’t come via prosperity, politics, vocational training, educational ranking, or anything else that expires at the end of this life. As You open up the door of faith, help us to communicate the gospel message that brings hope, peace, joy, and forgiveness through the person of Jesus Christ. It is because of Him that we have life everlasting and hope eternal. Amen.
