“A Prayer For Caring For The Lonely”

April 6, 2022

Loving Father, would You draw to our attention people who go unnoticed or those like the lepers who are rejected by the “norms” of society. Put their face on our conscience so that we will take the time or make the necessary sacrifice to assure them that they are cared for. Show us how we can help shoulder their burdens. Prompt us to extend the loving touch that Jesus extended when He stretched out His hand and touched the leper mentioned in Mark’s Gospel. And remind us to faithfully pray for them which is an evidence of our genuine care. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

“A Prayer During Times Of Weakness”

April 5, 2022

Father, it is in our weaknesses that Your power becomes more visible in our lives. The “thorn in our flesh” is representative of those trials common to all followers of Christ. We call out for deliverance and yet endure the discomfort and affliction as a true soldier of the faith, all the while being “joyful in hope, patient in affliction and faithful in prayer”. Because of the blood of Christ we can overcome the opposition and triumph in our faith to the glory of God the Father in whose name we pray. Amen.

“A Prayer To The God Of All Wisdom”

April 1, 2022

God of all wisdom, we ask for a discerning heart so that we walk circumspectly in Your way and effectively lead the people entrusted to our care. We need Your wisdom to distinguish between right and wrong, truth and error though the world may view us as fools. So many live by opinion polls, current trends, and that which makes them acceptable to the world. But as we pray in the Spirit and absorb Your Word into our hearts we will want to walk uprightly and do justly. It is a natural outflow of Your wisdom and Spirit that abides within us as we choose to walk in Your ways. Be our vision during the light of day and in the darkness of night; whether waking or sleeping we yield our all to You, Omniscient Father. Amen.

“A Prayer To Our Redeemer”

March 31, 2022

Father, as You already know my worth is not in what I own, it’s not in the strength of my flesh and bone, but it’s in the costly wounds of Christ’s love demonstrated on the cross. I will not boast in my wealth or might nor in my wisdom’s fleeting light, but I will boast in knowing Christ at the cross who fully paid my ransom. Because of this I rejoice in my Redeemer, life’s greatest treasure. He’s the Wellspring of my soul so I will trust in Him, and no other. My soul is satisfied in Him alone. Therefore I freshly commit to glorifying You with my body, for that is my ultimate worth that I fully surrender to You. Amen.

Prayer adapted from the song, “My Worth Is Not In What I Own”

“A Prayer For Perfect Peace”

March 30, 2022

Father, because we place our trust in You as our sovereign Lord we have an enduring peace that You are the Great Deliverer, that You work all things together for good to those who love You and are called according to Your purpose. We seek to glorify Jesus, our Solid Rock, who was put to the ultimate test and laid an unshakable foundation for our faith, as He remained true to His mission to provide our salvation. Our faith is strengthened and our peace perfected as we keep our minds stayed upon You, not only on the bright, cheerful days but on the dismal days when the clouds of discouragement would otherwise obscure the brightness of Your promise to keep us in perfect peace if we keep our minds stayed upon You. Amen.

“A Prayer For Faith When We Cannot See”

March 29, 2022

Father, help us to have the kind of faith prescribed in Hebrews 11:1 where “Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” It is the kind of prevailing faith that is triumphant even in the worst of circumstances because it is not determined by what we see, but rather in Whom we believe. We will not be overcome by life’s dark circumstances but we will overcome them by standing on the unflickering hope of Scripture that reassures us, “God keeps every promise He makes, He is like a shield to all who seek His protection.” Praise God! Amen.

“A Prayer As We Await The Blessed Hope”

March 28, 2022

Father, I greatly anticipate the supernatural return of Your beloved Son at the sound of the trumpet call. Help me not to grow weary in the wait but remain vigilant in my Christian journey no matter the travail along the way. May I be found spotless, blameless and at peace with You as I seek to live a holy and godly life in this present age. Knowing of my deficiencies and failings, even as I pursue a godly lifestyle, I find great consolation in the tender mercies of a loving God who welcomes me to a new heaven and new earth. It is at this great transition that the battle of flesh vs. spirit will finally end and we will be fully righteous because of the great sacrifice of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who died for us. Maranatha! Come, Lord Jesus, come!

“A Prayer For Humility”

March 25, 2022

Jesus, we know that none of us are 100% humble, for we are clothed in these mortal, fallible bodies. But we do know that You are completely humble and we look to You as our example. As we clothe ourselves in Your righteousness we can overcome the pride that is ever before us. We recognize that no good thing can come from us, but all that is good comes from You. Remind us daily that gratitude is the antidote for feelings of pride. When we acknowledge that everything we have and all that we are is due to Your merciful blessings we are humbled and grateful to You, the Giver of every good and perfect gift. Thank you, Amen.”

“A Prayer For Resisting Temptation”

March 24, 2022

Father, You are the Father of Truth for You authored its meaning and revealed it fully in the person of Jesus Christ who was without sin. We live in a world full of impostors that have gone from bad to worse; those who use trickery, deceit, and distortion to mislead and gain the allegiance of others. Help us to be wise, discerning, and honest so that we will be people of integrity with sterling character leading people to faith in Jesus where they will find forgiveness for their sins, truth as revealed in Scripture, and life everlasting.

And, Lord, for those who are dear to our heart; those who have taken the enemy’s bait and now are entrapped in sin’s deadly tentacles, we prayerfully intercede on their behalf as we cry out to You. Free them from the deadly strangle of Satan’s influence. Grant us wisdom, discernment, and favor as we interact with them. Send others to bring light to their darkened paths and to help us bear this heavy burden. We will not be defeated, for Your power that is within us is greater than the power of our enemy. We will not despair in our problems, but we will delight in Your promises. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

“A Prayer On The Day Of Salvation”

March 23, 2022

Father, thank You for loving us enough to warn repeatedly of impending judgment through Your prophets, disciples, through Your Son Jesus who made it possible that we can escape eternal damnation. As believers we know this is no joking matter as Jesus gave His all that we might be set free from the penalty of sin. Keep us alert, listening, obedient and growing in our faith and our burden for those who have not yet made peace with You. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Here’s a common prayer that expresses faith in God’s plan of salvation. It’s often called “the sinner’s prayer.” Believing what this prayer expresses is the main component of being prepared for the coming judgment. I urge you to pray this prayer from your heart today.

“Lord Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner. I believe that You came to this earth and died on the cross as a substitute for me. I place my faith in You and ask You to forgive me of my sins. I receive You into my life and choose this day to follow and serve You. Thank You for what You have done for me and for hearing my prayer. Amen.
