“A Prayer For Trust Through Trials”

February 6, 2018

Thankful man Father, we want to place our full confidence in Your sovereign plan for our lives. We recognize that trials are included in the school of faith helping us to grow and mature. It also helps us to feel the pain of others who will undergo similar trials prompting us to undergird them with prayer. When we overcome trials in life we also provide positive example to the godly as well as the ungodly. So, Father, we pray for the joy that comes with knowing that You are working Your purpose in our lives through not only the blessings we enjoy from day to day but also the trials we endure from time to time. We thank You for Jesus who helps us to endure and overcome. Amen.

“A Prayer For Focus On The Glorious Appearing Of Jesus Christ”

February 5, 2018

Praying man Father, help us to remember in the course of this day, when so much of our work and planning is intended for this life only, that we must also fix our eyes on the life yet to come. May that which we say, think and do reflect kingdom principles that store up treasures for us in our heavenly kingdom even while we serve here below. We anxiously await that day when we receive the crown of righteousness reserved for those who have fought the good fight, finished the race, remained true to the faith, and whose greatest longing is for the glorious appearing of Christ. Amen.

“A Prayer For Those In The Greatest Contest”

February 2, 2018

Thankful man Jesus, the race You’ve marked out for us doesn’t require nearly as much physical stamina as it does spiritual endurance. Those who are physically weak due to disease, illness, and aging are just as qualified to run as those who have young athletic bodies. It’s a spiritual race where You call us to perseverance as we discard anything that would trip us up or lead us on a disastrous detour. The great cloud of witnesses spur us on; those from the Biblical period, throughout history and from our own generation. But above all I thank You, Jesus, that You endured the cross and all the suffering that accompanied it being spurred on by the joy You knew would be Yours on the other side of the cross. You cheer us on by Your own example and by the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit when we become weary in our struggle against sin as we participate in this greatest of contests. Keep us faithful, Lord. Amen.

“A Prayer For Spiritual Faithfulness”

February 1, 2018

Thankful man Father, we have been given a trust and desire to prove ourselves faithful in all areas of our lives as evidenced in our responsibilities carried out here on earth. Being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us involves sacrifice, humbleness, repentance, and obedience which does not come easily, but is nevertheless required. As we walk steadily with You and prayerfully apply Scriptural principles we will be found faithful. We look to You in prayer and come to You through Jesus Christ our Lord in whose name we pray. Amen.

“A Prayer For Living Under Christ’s Preeminence”

January 31, 2018

Thankful man Father, anything good or praiseworthy in me is simply a reflection of the abiding presence of Your Holy Spirit. I want to grow in Your grace and knowledge, and will do so if You are preeminent in my life. That means You will reign supreme and be of first importance to me, having greater influence than any other person or cause. I want to walk in humility today as I pray, “Jesus must become greater in my life, I must become less.” I ask You to be at the center of my thoughts, my attitudes, and my actions so that Your preeminence is seen in all I think, do, and say. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

“A Prayer For A Merry Heart”

January 30, 2018

Thankful manFather, thank you for friends that we laugh and cry with. Sometimes mistaken words can get us into serious trouble and other times they can produce a rumble of laughter. Help us to spread joy, laugh with others and also laugh at ourselves, for a joyful heart is like good medicine. A daily dose of it lightens our step and distracts us from the troublesome world in which we live and the daily burdens that can otherwise weigh us down. Amen.

“A Prayer For A Good Conscience”

January 29, 2018

Thankful man Our Father and God, help us to live our life in a way that does not gratify our flesh, but rather feeds our spirit that is redeemed by the blood of the Lamb. You have given us opportunity to make a positive difference in this degenerate world. May we, by exercising restraint bring light into this darkened, sin-indulged world. May the fruit of the spirit; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, be evident in our lives so that these attitudes bring about good deeds which glorify You, Father. Others will look at our lives and see beyond our human frailties to recognize the Spirit of God at work in our lives providing example and stimulus to those seeking an alternative to the coarsening darkness of this troubled world. Sharpen our conscience so that we become more and more like Christ, for we pray this in His name. Amen.

“A Prayer From Romans 12:9-13”

January 26, 2018

Thankful man Father, as we walk by faith and not by sight, grant us grace that none of us will have a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from You, the living God. Rather may we hate what is evil and cling to what is good. May we be devoted to one another in brotherly love and honor one another above ourselves. May we never be lacking in zeal, but keep our spiritual fervor, serving the Lord, being joyful in hope, patient in affliction, and faithful in prayer. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Prayer adapted from Romans 12:9-13.

“A Prayer To Our Strong Redeemer”

January 25, 2018

Thankful man Father, we trust You for You are worthy of our full confidence. No problem is too difficult for You since Your power is supernatural, unlimited in strength and scope. There is no request we bring to You that is too perplexing or hard for You to answer, no need too great for You to supply, no misdirected passion too strong for You to restrain; no temptation too powerful for You to deliver us from, and no misery too deep for You to lift us from, for You are the Strength of our lives. When we rest on these truths we are confident and trusting that there is no enemy force of which we should be afraid. We come boldly before Your throne of grace with Jesus as our Advocate. Amen.

“A Prayer For A Good Testimony”

January 24, 2018

Thankful man Father, since our lives are “the only Bible that some people read” we want to be careful of what we say and do, lest we give a wrong impression of what it is to be a follower of Christ. Keep us mindful of the truth that we influence others for the kingdom of God, either for good or for ill. Thankfully, your loving Spirit draws people to Yourself, and supersedes that which we do to hamper one’s impression of faith followers. Nevertheless, we are given responsibility to let our light shine before others, so that they may see our good works, and glorify You, our Father, which is in heaven. We seek to be obedient in doing this so that we might influence others to follow You and gain citizenship in the kingdom of heaven. Amen.
