“A Prayer For Following God’s Truths”

February 19, 2021

Father, Your truths do not fluctuate nor are they subject to reinterpretation by the “expert” philosophers of our day. Your truths are explained through the inspiration of Your Holy Word and understanding given to us by Your Holy Spirit. May our ears be open and our eyes focused to see that Your truth is the same yesterday, today and forever, and to receive Your daily blessing we must walk in Your ways and follow Your truths. Amen.

“A Prayer When God Seems Silent”

February 18, 2021

Father, show me how to capture my thoughts and train them to focus on You, to trust in You, and to wait on You. Chisel away at the fears and doubts that clamor for my attention during the wait, block the voices of those who contribute to my hesitancy to believe wholeheartedly, and keep my eyes fixed on the heavenward calling I received upon the day of my salvation. I want my heart to be secure and I want to squelch any fears that arise so that in the end I will look in triumph on my foes and give testimony to Your overcoming power in my life, not only in the “ups” of this journey but even in the “downs” I didn’t prefer. All glory be to God! Amen.

“A Prayer For Family Reconciliation”

February 17, 2021

Father, the Psalmist rightly states that You “set the lonely in families” so that we don’t have to navigate earth’s journey alone, otherwise our perspective would be skewed and our experience would be that of extreme loneliness. We find great assurance in Your promise when You said, “Never will I leave You nor forsake You” though family members will arrive and family members will depart during our life’s journey. Our time is brief so help us to make the most of every opportunity to let our families know we love them and are so grateful for their presence in our lives. Help us to allow for individuality that might otherwise separate us, for though we are family members, we often express ourselves differently. Above all, we want to prayerfully uplift each one within our family, that they might know You through the gift of salvation, so that we might be united as a family not just here on earth but for all eternity. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Psalm 68:6, Hebrews 13:5

“A Prayer For Boldness”

February 16, 2021

Father, in this depraved generation, darkness is broadly sweeping across the land. At one time morality and virtuous behavior was applauded, but we now live in a time where good is called evil and evil is called good. Those who uphold Biblical truths are seen as archaic, old-fashioned, unenlightened. May we not be confused by where the line crosses Your perfect will for our lives. We know in our hearts that teachings or lifestyles that defy Your holy Word is evil, not good. “Enable us to speak Your Word with great boldness” like Peter on the Day of Pentecost and Stephen prior to his stoning. May we not be intimidated or allow ourselves to be bullied into supporting a position that contradicts that which is revealed in Your Holy Word. We rely on the power of Your Holy Spirit to boldly live out our lives in a way that honors You and shows others the way to heaven. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

“A Prayer Proclaiming Jesus As Savior”

February 15, 2021

Father, we thank You for our salvation that is found in no one else but Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven given to us whereby we can be saved. In the powerful name of Jesus demons are cast down, sinners are set free from the shackles of sin, and the sick are made whole. In the name of Jesus every knee will bow, those in heaven, and those on earth, and those under the earth to proclaim that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of the Father. We gratefully proclaim that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior who has redeemed us through His shed blood that we might be forgiven our sins and be saved for all eternity. Amen.

“A Prayer For Enduring Love”

February 12, 2021

Father, we thank You for the wonderful gift of love that we experience in a romantic relationship that often grows into a marital bond between a man and woman. It is a holy union in which we, as devout believers, make You the Cornerstone of our marriage and family. May we be a support to each other as we provide a loving and protective shelter from the inevitable disappointments of life. May the fruit of the Spirit be evident in our daily walk both at home and in public places. Keep us wholly faithful to one another, rejecting every lustful temptation the devil sends our way. May we prove our love to each other with mutual respect, understanding, forgiveness, kindness, forbearance, and unity. In the precious name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

“A Prayer To The Savior”

February 11, 2021

Father, there is no sin too great that Your mercy is not greater. We were born with a sin problem, but You provided the solution for our sin sick souls through the wondrous sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus Christ. We can never be good enough, rich enough, famous enough – nothing we offer is enough. Anything we have to give is sin-based because of our human condition and all that Christ offers is sin-less because He is the Lamb without blemish. Only Jesus, the sinless Lamb of God, is enough to pay for our sins. His payment made in full makes us a new creation, taking away our old attitudes and behaviors born of this world and replacing them with the new attitudes and behaviors born of the Spirit. Thank You for the living water that quenches our eternal thirst through Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.

“A Prayer For A Future Meal”

February 10, 2021

Father, when we consider life before receiving Christ as our Savior and contrast it with life after coming to faith, we are profoundly grateful for the changes it brought. We no longer flounder in searching for the meaning of life, our sins no longer master us, and joy replaces the fear and uncertainty of tomorrow. We rejoice greatly that our sins are forgiven and that we have an inheritance in heaven that will never perish, spoil or fade. With growing anticipation we long for the greatest fellowship meal of all time when we will be joined with Christ at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. We rejoice greatly that we who are Your blood-bought children are invited to partake not only of the heavenly assortment of food but also the fruit of the vine. The same fruitful beverage that Jesus offered to His disciples the night of His betrayal has been reserved for us in heaven where we will drink it anew with Him in Your kingdom. Keep us faithful until that most glorious eternal reunion in heaven. Amen.

“A Prayer Of Resolve To Serve The Lord”

February 9, 2021

Father, we want to serve You with all our heart loving You above everything and everyone. We want to serve You with all our soul, as it lives for all eternity. We want to serve You with our mind as we acknowledge that You are the Dispenser of wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. We want to serve You with all our strength, knowing that when our strength weakens it is then that we truly find strength. We want to be faithful to You, the God of our fathers, so that we are not tempted to sell our souls to the gods of the peoples of our land. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

“A Prayer For The Great Cloud of Witnesses”

February 8, 2021

Father, we want to be numbered among the great cloud of witnesses. The race is long and hard, with the allurement to sin clamoring at our ankles daily and the incline rising with every step on some days. Yet in our steadfast determination to run with endurance the race set before us, we fix our eyes on Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith who awaits us at the finish line rewarding us with His presence and the eternal inheritance that He has prepared for us. Keep us strong and faithful in our spiritual race, in Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
